Before and After footage of Ozzy the Chihuahua who underwent a Behavioural Adjustment Training programme here at Voodoo K9 Academy. Before working with VK9 Academy, Ozzy was very hostile and reactive towards other dogs 🐕 through our programme we gradually worked on developing obedience and engagement including loose lead walking, listening to simple commands then we applied this to his issues around other dogs...and now look at him! the progress and success is very clear and we are very very proud of this little man! way to go ozzy!
Behavioural busters is for dogs and owners who have completed a package with us and want to proof behaviours and the knowledge they have gained with us.
Check out Neve! Demonstrating amazing progress during a session learning the final stages of recall training - the all important, and a huge step of fading out the long line 💪 😀 This family were super lovely to work with and their hard work and dedication really was the main part of their amazing progress 👏 😀 A video with very minimal editin to show you the true picture of what we do here 😀 at Voodoo K9 Academy! You can hear and see distractions that Neve encounters during her lesson and if you watch closely she always chooses neutral responses and engagement with her owners. There's moments of being able to see and hear other dogs even a group of barking dogs in the background and Neve chooses to focus and auto recall to her owners!
Zennor came into her new family like a storm to say the least she was severely under exposed to everything in life making her super reactive and easily over stimulated to a lot of day to day things! Including: pushchairs, bikes, joggers, people, children , scooters, and especially other dogs. Not to mention being very very anxious about people approaching her to the point she would lunge, lash out and attempt a bite. Today I challenged these owners to a very busy environment, to the point that if I said to them back in January when we first met that we would be in this type of environment with NO REACTIVITY they would have probably laughed and left! But look at her now! We managed a double session with all of this, everything that Zennor would have previously reacted to! And on two occasions being in very close proximity to both my dogs: Nova the pro VK9 stooge dog and Viper the Belgian Malinois puppy. I am extremely proud of this family and have all the time in the world for these people who very clearly want to put the time in and achieve the results that are clearly very possible.
Luna the German Shepherd! What a stunning dog! Luna came to us showing typical behavioural issues related to the breed, nerve related reactivity towards other people and dogs. As well as obedience issues including severe pulling on the lead, ignoring her owners and disengagement. With a tailored behavioural adjustment training programme we soon started to see improvements from Luna! She learned to focus on her owners on cue and even began offering engagement herself, as well as developing a heel command so she can walk nicely and with a loose lead. We then developed this further to passing drills with other dogs and people around in a busy park! Wow! Really enjoyed working with this team! Way to go Luna! Nova the Dutch Shepherd helping out with behavioural rehabilitation as usual doing a great job, wearing kit from Gard K9 Collars UK 🇬🇧
Fantastic progress video with Milo the Chihuahua, going from severe reactivity to the hoover so much so, his owner could barely hoover the house with Milo present! Even touching the hoover while Milo was anywhere near would set him off! To this! In one session!! Way to go little Milo! We can now touch the hoover, make noise with it and even hoover around Milo with minimal reactions. Great work guys keep it up!
The success stories keep coming! Check out these awesome dogs rocking their training journeys!
Well done to those featured!
Barney The Labrador
Perro The SBT
Zola The GSD
Bella The Whippet
Lexi The American Bulldog was extremely reactive to people before training with Voodoo K9 Academy. So proud of this dog she has done so well to start to over come her issues and now focuses on her owner rather than lunge/bark at passers-by! As you can see from the start of the video Lexi was very fearful and reactive to people especially in/near her garden as well as out and about. Then to turn this all around and by the end even come over to me and take food!! And have people passing her garden with no reaction! So proud of this dog! Well done Chelsea and Lexi!
🎉Massive proud moment today! Athena the Belgian Malinois has completed her behavioural adjustment training programme!🎉 Athena came to us very very reactive to bikes as well as joggers. We have spent a lot of time getting her to the stage she is at towards the end of the video! With gradual training, teaching her to pay attention to her owners and not the bikes or joggers we have managed to get her to the point that bikes can even pass with speed from the front or behind and Athena chooses to look at her owners!! Way to go Athena! What an amazing success! Congratulations to her owners for putting in the hard work to get Athena to this point!
We are now conducting house visits in Durham and the surrounding areas for obedience and behavioural sessions! Check out Letty and Lara the English Bullmastiff duo showing amazing impulse control working on door manners, implementing the down stay to going to the door to greet someone. Super proud of these two, they have been with us for some time and the results in how these two young dogs are turning out to be are phenomenal. The owners have put in loads of time to their training, massive well done guys!
Georgia and Pongo have been with us for 7 sessions now and have achieved so much. Really proud of Pongo and his progress so we took it to the next level and did a recall session to begin to fade out the long line as he was showing all the right behaviours due to the trianing including recalling on the long line and choosing to offer check-ins with his owner as well as great engagement 😀 This is a fantastic step in the right direction with Pongo's training progressing gradually step by step! Hard work pays off!!
Congratulations to Krystal May Quinn and Nala for completing their behavioural block today! Nala has undergone some behavioural adjustment training due to previously being reactive to people and other dogs. Nala has responded so well to the training and is now consistently passing dogs and people with no reactions, keep up the amazing work 👏
Super work from Merrin the Border Terrier today. Proper woodland walk with all of the distractions and demonstrating her new found recall skills for both her owners!
Before training with Voodoo K9 Academy Merrin's recall had a "as and when she wanted" type feel. Now, here means here! Good lass!
Congratulations to Debra and Daisy for completing their obedience programme! Daisy came to us a rather excitable spaniel who needed work on the recall and loose lead walking so we formulated a specific training program to suit her owner's needs and got to work right away now look at her! Well Done Daisy!!
Letty And Lara are littermates that have been coming to us for some time now and have made exceptional progress with their obedience training. Their owners have done a fabulous job practicing their homework and ensuring to train the girls separately then gradually introduce training together to ensure understanding and clarity which is vital when owning litter mates! Here at Voodoo K9, we ensure sessions are tailored to the owner's needs and this is exactly what these two lovely bullmastiffs needed to gain a good level of understanding of what was expected of them and reliable focus on their owners!
Duke is an RSPCA rescue, he was found severely underweight and kept in a crate far to small for him. His owners decided to take him on from the RSPCA to give him a new life. Duke came to us with a lot of pent up energy and issues including dog reactivity, over arousal at simple stimulus and erratic behaviours such as uncontrolled pulling on the lead, launching at guests/friends, and lunging at passers-by. We assessed Duke and started his process right away, his owners went away for a week working super hard on their starter exercises, even coming home from work on lunch breaks to work with him, so on the first session with a bit more guidance they did absolutely amazingly! Obviously this video is only one session in and we have a lot of work to do, but massive well done to Dukes owners and thank you for following the plan and trusting the process!
Pongo came to us a very over-excited puppy! Which he still is just now with more control and training under his belt! Before training with Voodoo K9 Academy he jumped up like crazy, lunged to say hello to everyone, couldn't be let off the lead, which is still a working progress but he now has strong foundations for his recall and is now exercised on a long line and recalls back to his owner. He now walks to heel and has a lot more self control walking past people!!
Here is a look back on some of our most recent work with students working on their recall. The dogs featured are all on their individually tailored training plan that feature recall training at the owners request. We work with all different breeds. Different ages of dogs. And different walks of life. Contact us now if you want this level of engagement and obedience with your dog!
Fantastic progress from Reg the Belgian Malinois - He is an active General Purpose Security Dog but came to us with a few behavioural issues that needed ironing out such as reactivity towards people and dogs, here is his progression video.
Some would say, due to his role as a security dog, this is the reason for him wanting to bark at people. However it started to become unmanageable for his handler, and here at Voodoo K9 Academy we train our security dogs to bark at a threat on command only, not just at every person that passes. So you can see why this needed to change. Well done Reg and Hayley!
Raiker the siberian husky has been on our tailored obedience programme. He came to us with a severe pulling problem and caused his owners to have sore shoulders just from walking him! Not anymore!
Axel the German Shepherd showing everything he learned during the Perfect Pup Package! Well done Axel!
